Well probably unrelated, but the word "WASH" seems to have been much more popular in English language books in the 1970 & 80: https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=WASH&year_start=1950&year_end=2008&corpus=15&smoothing=0&share=&direct_url=t1%3B%2CWASH%3B%2Cc0
