Hi John, Thanks for your advice and link to the Tiger Toilet trial, and yes we'd like to treat the sludge as we are trying to improve the situation.
We'd be looking to make something which requires minimal and/or simple maintenance by the community - do you have any drawings of the pivoting shelf in a bucket that you could share with me please? Also is your friend testing this or the Tiger Toilets in India and in which part of the country is he/she doing it? I have contacted USAID by email to try and find out a little more information on the trial in India but I'm not sure if I'll get a reply.
