Latrine lining
Latrines: We have a limited budget and constructed brick-lined latrines last year - we have black cotton-clay soils which collapse, up to a depth of 3m. However, they are too expensive. Therefore, we have come up with a design of welding 4 oil-drums together as a lining. I have heard mixed messages as to whether or not they work. Do you know anywhere where they work well (or not well), and the approximate life? Or, alternative sustainable linings.
Many thanks
